IECEX CERTIFICATION OF PERSONNEL COMPETENCE

This is IECEx's certification system for people to prove their ability and experience to work with Ex explosion protection equipment that meets international standards.

The IECEx Certified Persons Scheme provides the global Ex industries with a single system for the assessment and qualification of persons meeting the competency prerequisites needed to properly implement the safety requirements based on the suite of IEC International Standards covering explosive atmospheres, e.g. the IEC 60079 and IEC 61241 series of standards.

Bureau Veritas Italia together with Australian partner, and Certifying Body Competency Training can assess in Italy the following Ex Units of competency:

Ex 001: Apply basic principles of protection in explosive atmospheres
Ex 003: Install explosion-protected equipment and wiring systems
Ex 004: Maintain equipment in explosive atmospheres
Ex 006: Test electrical installations in or associated with explosive atmospheres
Ex 007: Perform visual & close inspection of electrical installations in or associated with explosive atmospheres
Ex 008: Perform detailed inspection of electrical installations in or associated with explosive atmospheres

TARGET AUDIENCE: 
An IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competence demonstrates to the International Ex industry that a Certified Person has been found to operate procedures that provide confidence that the work undertaken complies with IECEx requirements and with the requirements of the relevant IEC Standard (s).

It is a transversal qualification achievable both by personnel who have already been working, in planning to improve their knowledge, and by recent graduates to be more attractive in the world of work. The course is designed to underpin knowledge and complete a practical assessment of electrical personnel who undertake the physical installation and assembly of new ‘Ex’ equipment, and, who perform preventive maintenance and inspections on previously installed equipment.

CERTIFICATION: At the end of the training path and after passing the theoretical and practical exam, the IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competence is released. This IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competence is issued by an approved IECEx Certification Body, Competency Training, whose identifier is “ACT”. 

If you fail the exam (failure), you will have to resit it. Resit the exam will incur an additional cost. Please note that only the exam needs to be repeated, not the entire course.

DURATION:
The path consists of 5 days (40 hours):
- 3 days of THEORETICAL COURSE
- 2 days of PRACTICAL AND THEORETICAL EXAMS

REGISTRATION
■ Registration fee:
Single participation: € 2.500 + VAT
■ In the event that the company registers more people, the rate is discounted by:
10% for the registration of at least 2 participants
15% for the registration from 3 to 6 participants
20% for the registration from 7 to 8 participants
■ The participation fee includes teaching training material
■ The course is subject to confirmation and Bureau Veritas Italia reserves the right to cancel the course if the minimum number of participants is not reached; A maximum of 10 participants are admitted to a single edition
