ISO 19443:2018. Training of internal auditors

Quality management systems — Specific requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2015 by organizations in the supply chain of the nuclear energy sector supplying products and services important to nuclear safety (ITNS)

The ISO 19443:2018 standard was published in June 2018. It constitutes a set of additional requirements to the 2015 version of the ISO 9001 standard for organizations in the supply chain of the nuclear energy sector supplying products or services important to nuclear safety. In addition to the seven quality management principles already described in ISO 9001:2015, the new ISO19443 standard places particular emphasis on three complementary principles which are: - safety culture, - the identification of items and activities important for nuclear safety and - the graded approach to the application of the requirements. As such, this standard becomes an essential tool for the internal audit teams of these same organizations who must assess both compliance with these additional principles and the requirements of the standard as well as progress in terms of the maturity of the monitoring system of the quality management of their organizations.
