Nuclear safety culture is made up of all the characteristics and attitudes which, within 
organizations and individuals, guarantee the safety of nuclear installations. It aims to ensure 
that all matters relating to security are given the attention they deserve, in order of priority 
and importance.
Nuclear safety is based on the quality of equipment and procedures and on the rigor of those 
involved. Rigor alone is not enough. It is important to ensure that in all circumstances 
individuals feel personally responsible for safety andadopt appropriate behavior.

Goals:
Learn the fundamental concepts of safety culture,
Ensure a systematic link with the requirements stemming from the nuclear quality standard 
ISO19443:2018, Understand the added value of safety culture,
Illustrate its concrete implementation.

Public and Prerequisites:
Anyone involved in the supply of products or services important for nuclear safety, Kriowledge of 
quality management and thenuclear energy sector,
Communicate in French or English depending onthe language of training.

Trainer skills/ Educational, technical and supervisory resources:
Training in English or French by a specialist in safety culture,
Training materials in pdl provided to trainees(after the training) and projection of slides 
onscreen, Theoretical presentations illustrated bythepresentation of practical cases or exercises,
Maximum of 12 participants per training session.

Assessment methods / Documents issued if the assessment is successful:
Evaluation of training by trainees through a Bureau Ventas quality document, Assessment of 
theknowledge gained (multiple choice questionnaire).
Issuance of a Bureau Ventas training follow-up certificate.
